Despicable Me 2 Review

More often than not animated movies in this day and age tend to go over to the dark side. Tim Burton gives our children nightmares, Disney does what it has to in order to make money but often not much else, Dreamworks merely exists to Outdo Disney, and Pixar has gone on the down slope. So with everything going on its nice to actually have a break and that's exactly what this movie does!

This is one of the few movies i would label as PURE WHOLESOME FUN! It springboards off of the original quite nicely and manages to put a nice twist of things. It doesn't stray to far from its roots and though it can be predictable at times it manages to be very entertaining. They focus most of the humor on the minions which works very well. I can easily see the minions appealing to a very wide audience. Overall i give this movie a 8.5/10. Its not a perfect movie but its still very very good. I could actually call this a family movie.

Iron Man 3...

In the film industry we critics go off of a number of basic guidelines but its usually a universal opinion that sequels and threequels in this day and age tend to ruin the series. 

Well in the case of Iron Man 3 its not ruined but it's also not exactly a high point either. the film is very much the low point of the series. Its certainly a great movie but the story is very much lacking from what we've seen in the previous two films. Its not even a bad story. Its just not what i was hoping for from something like this. Don't get me wrong its a great film its just the story is lacking. The visual effects are amazing, the animation is outstanding, and the characters have their usual funny remarks in fact it seems like they upped the humor substantially this time around. So honestly this movie is really worth checking out. It's a fun movie and it has a lot going for it. The story is just lacking and for that i have to give it an 8/10. But still i did actually like it.

EQUESTRIA GIRLS!

No it's not yet another complaint about Hasbro doing everything wrong! It is in regard to the fact that my Email inbox is now flooded with requests that i review the movie. Everyone relax! An Equestria Girls review is on my to do list however it will not be a full length review. Instead it's going to be a shorter video that touches on the major points and overall opinion i have after watching it. Hunter Reviews is set to be my next big production and i want to be professional about this.

So I'm just putting it out there. No need to flood my inbox with requests because it IS going to happen. But lets just wait for it to come out first.

The entertainment industry has lost yet another one of it's treasured icons...

In my opinion one of the first true film critics to ever truly make an impact on peoples lives. April 4th 2013 Roger Ebert passed away at the age of 70. Many of you probably don't understand the impact this man made. President Barack Obama himself wrote, "Roger was the movies ... he could capture the unique power of the movies to take us somewhere magical ... The movies won't be the same without Roger". Robert Redford called Ebert "one of the great champions of freedom of artistic expression" and said "His personal passion for cinema was boundless, and that is sure to be his legacy for generations to come." Oprah Winfrey called Ebert's death the "end of an era", as did Steven Spielberg, who also said that Ebert's "reviews went far deeper than simply thumbs up or thumbs down. He wrote with passion through a real knowledge of film and film history, and in doing so, helped many movies find their audiences... he put television criticism on the map". And as a movie critic it truly breaks my heart that he's gone. And this isn't coming from my character perspective. This is from the bottom of my heart.
